Back to Basics SIT10825 Electric Dual-Blade Ice Shaver Review

The machine appears to be well made and of sturdy construction. The syrup dispensers on the side were a nice bonus that I had not read about in the description. It works great at shaving ice. It works best when in the single cup mode, as it doesn't always fill both cups up evenly in the two cup mode. My only real complaint is that the cup holders are too close to the ice dispenser so you cannot get the ice to mound up on top of the cup like a real snow cone should. The kids don't seem to notice or mind however.

No need to wait for the State Fair to enjoy a refreshing snow cone thanks to this easy-to-use electric ice shaver. The machine uses regular ice cubes (no molds required), and its dual shaving blades quickly transform ice into fine, fluffy snow. Make one snow cone or two snow cones simultaneously by simply turning the blade-selection knob on the side of the ice bowl. The appliance also provides a transparent lid that allows kids to watch the shaving process, and two removable syrup-dispensing bottles come included. Fill the bottles with favorite flavors, then push down on the pump top to easily dispense directly onto the shaved ice. Because of its snowy fine consistency, the shaved ice absorbs flavors instead of them running to the bottom. For added convenience, the unit provides a removable two-cup holder that keeps cups in place under the shaving blades, and its built-in drip tray contains drips and spills for quick clean-up. Best of all, its child-safe locking lid must be securely locked into place for the unit to operate. A festive addition to any birthday party, backyard barbecue, or other fun gathering, the 85-watt ETLUS-listed ice shaver measures 10 by 8 by 10 inches and carries a one-year warranty. A user manual with delicious recipe ideas comes included.

Back to Basics SIT10823 Ice Treats Electric Ice Shaver Review

I bought this machine at a big box retailer and I think it is worth what I paid for it which was 19.99. You can use your normal ice cubes (from the fridge or from trays) but it works best w/ the mold they give you, assuming you prefer a very very fine texture. The only bummer is that you only get 2 molds with the machine=( I do like that you don't have to use the snow cone holder and you can just place a cup or small bowl under the machine to save money on snow cone holders! I have only used this for one month about 2x a week and so far so good but we will see how long it lasts based on the the previous review. As a side note I have also tried this machine w/ frozen milk, soda and juice and it still works well. Have fun!

No need to wait for the State Fair to enjoy a refreshing snow cone thanks to this easy-to-use electric ice shaver. The machine can be used with regular ice cubes or the included ice molds, and its sharp shaving blade quickly transforms ice into fine, fluffy snow--adjust the blade as necessary for creating the texture of ice desired. Make a variety of favorite snow cones or other delicious summertime treats by adding flavored syrups, fruit juices, soda, or punch-flavored drinks to the shaved ice. Because of its snowy fine consistency, the shaved ice absorbs flavors instead of them running to the bottom. The shaved ice can also be mixed with fruit and yogurt for a healthy snack. Other highlights include large push-button operation for easy use, a removable cone holder that keeps cups in place under the shaving blade, and a built-in drip tray that contains drips and spills for quick clean-up. Accessories include two ice molds, four snow-cone cups, four spoon-straws, and a user manual with recipes. The 60-watt cETLus-rated ice shaver measures 8 by 9 by 14-1/2 inches and carries a one-year warranty.

Victorio VKP1101 Snow Cone Maker/Ice Shaver Review

Just got this yesterday. Took their advice and used the supplied molds and not just plain ice cubes (will try that later). Made one helping of frozen milk and two of plain ice. This morning, I put the block of milk in the hopper and cranked out some BEAUTIFUL shaved (not crushed, not flaked, but beautifully shaved) ice milk. Topped it with some chocolate syrup and just enjoyed the heck out of it. I'm not sure why the other reviewer found it so hard to crank the unit. I'm 61 with mild arthritis in both hands and didn't have any problem. I don't know how much hard use this beauty will take but I figure for $18 I can afford to buy a new one every summer.

This is very yummy and sticks to the ice well. My only complaint is that it could be stronger. You have to use quite a bit to get a good flavor.

I was hoping to duplicate Sonic's grape slush. This syrup is watery and tastes horrible. Blech... I had to use half the bottle for one slushie. Not worth the money.

Victorio VKP1100 Electric Snow Cone Maker/Ice Shaver Review

Victorio VKP1100 Electric Snow Cone Maker/Ice Shaver
Average Reviews:

All the other reviews either seemed as if they were a plant or were complaining that the other reviews were plants. So, here is a review that is neither of those.
I bought this product despite all those other reviews. I love it. My daughter loves it. It is easy to use... just drop the ice in the top and hold the lid down. It makes snow-like ice that absorbs the syrups. It doesn't make an "ice chunk and syrup soup" like many other snow cone machines do. It's not exactly "$8 amusement park snow cone" quality, but I'd certainly say it is "$5 county fair snow cone" quality.
I am VERY happy with this product and do recommend it.

Back to Basics 2-Pack Silicone Cups and Holders, Colors may vary Review

Back to Basics 2-Pack Silicone Cups and Holders, Colors may vary
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased these along with an Icy Treats machine. The cones probably hold 6-8 ounces of liquid, which seems small compared with today's oversized portions, but it's enough for a snow cone. The stands are separate from the silicone cone so you can mix and match the cone colors and stand colors. I hand washed mine because there is nothing on the package to indicate if these are dishwasher safe. But they're a breeze to clean. The stands are pretty sturdy and didn't seem to wobble at all, even with the cone jam-packed with ice and syrup.
There are two cones in a box; it's a potluck as to what colors you get. I was sent a green and orange set. But beware that the color isn't as bright as it is in the photos. The "orange" was muted, more like a muddy salmon color. I marked this down to 4 stars because I was disappointed with the color, and people who are buying these, especially for kids, might want to know this in advance. Of course, the color doesn't affect their usability.
About syrup: I have Monin syrups I buy for flavoring coffee, which contain cane sugar. They work just fine for snow cones. I recommend the Wild Grape... mmm. For an "adult snow-cone," try pouring some Kahlua over the ice.
