(More customer reviews)I'd been looking for one of these for a long time.. they are apparently a "bar" item, and not a kitchen item. The yellow enamel chips off in the dishwasher. The size of lemon/lime slice that can be put in the squeezer is much smaller than one I had many years ago. It tends to flip the slice on its side, rather than keeping the juice side down. Basically disappointed.

(More customer reviews)This is a particularly good citrus squeezer, very well made and attractive. It really gets the juice out! It works on limes, lemons, oranges. It doesn't come with instructions. Cut your citrus in half and place it cut side down (the opposite of what you'd think) so that the squeezer can turn the rind inside out. Enjoy!

(More customer reviews)This item did not perform as it was supposed to. I am 11 years old and my Mom is posting for me. During the first use, it broke while I was squeezing limes. We didn't even get to finish squeezing all of them before it broke. When I was squeezing, the hinge that holds the two pieces together snapped making the squeezer unusable. I do not recommend this item to anybody and suggest that you keep your money and spend it on something that will last more than one use. I believe this item to be a "frigging piece of junk". Save your money!!!!!

HIC Stainless Steel Lemon Reamer Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this item as a gift for my cousin, and asked him for his reaction after using it. Here are his comments:
"I'd give it a three, or maybe a three and a half stars.
It needs to be redesigned so that one doesn't have to apply so much energy to squeeze. I can use just my fingers to squeeze a lemon or a lime, and get probably as much juice. But then I have to scoop out the seeds myself. This squeezer does keep the seeds inside, to be disposed of afterwards.
And I think that there should have been some instructions on which way to put in the lemon or the lime. Even just a picture would do.
Well, I wonder how one would design one that is easy to squeeze. Maybe with a longer handle. (But who would want such a big contraption in the kitchen?) Still, with lots of inventive minds out there, maybe some one can come up with something really innovative.
So, definitely a convenience. I'll be using mine in the future to squeeze lemons and limes."

Returned to the store and got my money back. Guess I'll spend the money on a reputable brand (Oxo, Williams Sonoma, etc). This thing is junk.

(More customer reviews)This was great and effective to use until It broke while juicing ~ the 20th lime. Also is too small to handle a large healthy lime. Ultimately there were tons of air pockets in the die-cast aluminum (visible once broken) and the handle snapped including a small piece of the concave cup. I'm not sure that most people would have the strength to break this juicing a lime, but that said, they would also no be able to juice a medium to large lime.

(More customer reviews)We have the orange, lemon, and lime squeezers. Ease of squeeze diminishes as size increases and fruit becomes firmer. An older, drier orange would be almost impossible for Hulk Hogan to get a drop out of. A small, juicy lime would be a whiz for an arthritic grandma.
Our objections are, the enamel peels off where the juice contacts it most strongly and repeatedly, so that bits of paint fall in your food preparations; the acid in the juice attacks the bare aluminum and causes pitting; waxy coatings from the fruit which build up on the inside surfaces of the juicers attract dirt and mildew and are virtually impossible to remove; and finally, the pin that holds the pieces together is steel and rusts.
Although these juicers get the juice out, we're now looking for an all stainless steel model with long enough handles so it doesn't take a lot of strength to juice a lemon, and doesn't shed paint and collect crud that can't be removed.

KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment Review

(More customer reviews)I really like this attachment and use it frequently. That said, I have some suggestions:
For users-
1. Use the KitchenAid mixing bowl to catch the juice, and place a large standard kitchen strainer across the bowl. This speeds things up a lot!
2. Rub some shortening on the aluminum shaft before inserting it into the brass sleeve. If you use your juicer a lot, this will greatly prolong its life.
For KitchenAid-
1. The plastic piece that inserts into the mixer should be made out of metal, instead of plastic with a metal sleve. On mine the plastic is cracking away from the brass.
2. The aluminum shaft should be brass or steel. As it is, the bearing surface is a small area of aluminum that even when lubricated, is showing lots of wear.

Chef'n FreshForce Citrus Juicer, Lime Review

I enjoy my Gin (Sapphire) and Tonics and like to press 1/2 lime into a drink (Fever-Tree Tonic Water highly recommended too), as well as fresh lime juice in a margarita. I put my presses to the test!
I've have owned a bunch of the green or yellow single hinged juicers which have served well but don't last very long, either pop a rivet or the hinge breaks. They also gum up with repeated use and are difficult to clean (I think maybe the wax on the fruit??).
This juicer uses a mechanical advantage for pressing which requires much less pressure and gets most juice in one press.
The press surfaces are also more durable and easier to clean.
Own this juicer and you will not be happy using the old style.
Only con I might list is it only comes in one size (big emough for a good sized lemon) but even with the smaller limes I get a good press.

OXO Good Grips Citrus Squeezer Review

(More customer reviews)I've used a large variety of tools over the years to juice citrus, and I was excited when I learned of this tool. Not only is it by Oxo, a leader in kitchen gadget innovations, but Cooks Illustrated also rated it as the top method for juicing limes.
I'm happy to report it does indeed juice limes very well! People without a lot of forearm/wrist strength may have to brace the bottom handle of the squeezer on something, and all the juice doesn't drain out of the squeezer until you remove the spent half-lime (it could use a few more drain holes), but it's effortless for me and I don't get juice all over my hands like when I use a reamer. For a lime squeezer, I give it 5 stars.
For a lemon squeezer, it leaves something to be desired. Working with an average supermarket lemon, it doesn't squeeze out as much juice as a reamer would (leaving some still in the lemon, wasted), and worse, squeezing hard causes lemon juice to squirt out the side for a sticky mess to clean up. Still, it is easy to use, if not very effective, so for a lemon squeezer, it gets 3 stars.
Since this is marketed as a citrus squeezer and not a lime squeezer, I averaged my two ratings to award 4 stars. If you're going to use this tool for limes and only the occasional lemon, the Oxo Citrus Squeezer is an excellent buy.
