Granite Ware 9 Inch Colander Review

Granite Ware 9 Inch Colander
Average Reviews:

It's little light weight, but it's sturdy.
I used to have enameled colanders, which look very beautiful.
But if you try to drain pasta, the color fades away, which freaked me out.
I don't want any of those chemicals on my food.
But this granite stuff can withstand hot water and nothing came off.
I would buy this product again.

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice Cooker Set Review

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice Cooker Set
Average Reviews:

I bought this for one reason; so my buddy in the Army who is flying around in the desert can make himself and his crew a meal without them having to walk the damned mile from their quarters to the chow hall.
I researched microwavable rice cookers and this one fit the bill because of 1)price, 2)size (can fit in a very small microwave), and 3) capacity. It also provided good value because of the measuring cup and spoon provided.
I shipped this to Iraq (via USPS APO) along with some bags of Jasmine Rice, Pouches of Chicken breast meat, Cans of Coconut Milk and baby corn, an envelope of "Taste of Thai" peanut sauce mix, and my recipe for "Chicken and Baby Corn in peanut sauce over jasmine rice" (which as you might imagine involved mixing and heating everything but the rice, then dumping it over the rice.)
IT WAS A HUGE HIT, and it's not like these knuckleheads (I say that with all due fondness and respect) can cook. So bottom line, this thing would be perfect for a Soldier in the field or a college student in a dorm room.

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice/Pasta Cooker Set Review

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice/Pasta Cooker Set
Average Reviews:

I love this thing and have used one or more for the past 12 years. I have 4!!
The secret to great rice is enough water but not too much water.
1 cup of rice
then cover with enough water so that when you stick your finger into the water and touch the rice, the water is only up to your first knuckle.
Place in 1200 watt micro for 13 minutes. When timer goes off remove and allow to stand...it's still steaming) For about 5 mins... then open and fluff with fork.
This will make about 3 cups of rice.
FORGET Microwave PASTA... Microwaved pasta doesn't work because pasta NEEDS to move in the water in order to keep it from sticking!
However... steam veggies of all kinds! Steam fish, shrimp, shellfish... (I save one just for this purpose) Chicken too.
Try steaming cut up potatoes in broth with some garlic added then mash for a tasty treat.

If you are a canner or jelly maker, this is the product for you. You end up with crystal clear juice with no pulp and no extra water. Excellent and the bottom section can be used as a roaster or soup pot as well.

Victorio VKP1040 Stainless Steel Steam Juicer Review

Victorio VKP1040 Stainless Steel Steam Juicer

I used this steam extractor for the first time yesterday. It worked great. Pot is just the right size and cleans up easily. It works on most fruits and sure beats all that mashing and straining. To use you just wash your fruit, load it in the top pan, put water in the bottom pan and drain off the juice, as it appears, out the tube, from the center pan.
I have used an older aluminum steamer for several years, but I'm happy with my upgrade to stainless.
The one thing I don't like about it--The steamer is made in China. We can make this in the U.S.A.!

Back to Basics A12 Aluminum Steam Juicer Review

I made apricot juice with this and plum juice. the whole house smelledf wonderful while doing it, plus it saves a lot of time from the old "boil and strain" method. IT did take a little longer than the instructions said, but that may be because I used a lot of fruit, or because of difference in altitides. This is a MUST for canning juice.

Mehu-Liisa 10 Liter Stainless Steel Steam Juicer - Made in Finland Review

Mehu-Liisa 10 Liter Stainless Steel Steam Juicer - Made in Finland
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you want to make juice from fruit - this is a *must* have. When I first moved into our current home I was confronted with a fence that had 45 feet of grape vine on it. The first fall I started to process the grapes the way I had every other fruit at our previous homes. After 2 days of working I had only progressed about 3 feet down the fence!
That's when I called the local home extension office. The sent me to a store that carried this steamer. Problem solved. I finished the remaining 42 feet of grapevine in about 8 hours and had 14 gallons of concentrated grape juice to show for my efforts.
The price tag may seem high, but it *is* stainless steel and has given me 14 years of good service so far. I expect it will last beyond when I will be interested in making grape juice.

Cook N Home 9-1/2-Quart Stainless-Steel Juicer Steamer Review

Cook N Home 9-1/2-Quart Stainless-Steel Juicer Steamer
Average Reviews:

This is the greatest juicer I have ever used! I juice elderberries every year to make concentrate for the flu and cold season. These little berries are very hard to juice, and with the hanging time involved (usually over night) it took at least twelve hours just to get the juice. With this steamer juicer I had pure juice in one half hour and had made the concentrate and water bath canned it in a total of one hour. I have also used the steamer juicer for stawberries, blackberries, apples, and tomatoes with wonderful results. Winemakers and home canners would be doing themselves a big favor by purchasing one of these, as the time saved and the quality of the juice will pay for the juicer in no time.

With a 9-1/2-quart capacity, this juicer steamer offers plenty of room for high-volume juicing, measuring approximately 12 inches in diameter by 14-1/2 inches tall. Simply add fresh fruit in the top container, fill the bottom container with water, and bring to a boil on the stove top. The resulting steam gently extracts the juice, which drips into the center pan where it can be collected from the surgical-quality tube. Drink the vitamin-rich juice fresh, or save it for making jelly or syrup. Without the center pan and tube, the juicer steamer can also be used to steam vegetables on the stove top.
Ruggedly built, the juicer steamer features gleaming stainless-steel construction with a bottom that consists of a layer of aluminum sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel for fast, even heat distribution. Side loop handles on each of the three vessels help ensure safe, secure transport, and its secure-fitting lid with a loop handle helps keep in heat, moisture, and nutrients. Instructions and a recipe book come included.

Back to Basics N12 Stainless Steel Juicer/Cooker Set Review

Back to Basics N12 Stainless Steel Juicer/Cooker Set
Average Reviews:

I have made several different kinds of juice with whatever kind of fruit was ripe in the garden. I love it so much I even got fruit out of the freezer that I wanted to process but never had the time to last year. I can't wait for the grapes to be ready.
Very easy to use and the juice comes out clear and without any effort. Just fill the bottom pot with water, add the fruit to the basket, turn it on and wait an hour. Cleanup is easy as the pulp cleans up easily and each piece of the system is manageable in size and with nicly rounded corners.
I have used elderberry in the steam juicer and the tube did not stain, even though elderberry seems to stain anything it comes in contact with.
I dilute the juice concentrate with water for our breakfast juice and I know it will pay for itself in a short time.
This is a wonderful way to make healthy juice without the effort and trouble of conventional juice exctraction.
