Nostalgia LJS-402 Old-Fashioned Lemonade Juice Stand Review

Nostalgia LJS-402 Old-Fashioned Lemonade Juice Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Nostalgia Electrics Old Fashioned Lemonade Cart was on my wish list this past Christmas, and I feel fortunate to have received it. Not detracted by the fact that it looks like a toy, I had a serious intention in mind for it: To put the hundreds of lemons that would otherwise begin to rot in my yard to good use. Happily, this product delivered more than I had hoped for. It eliminates the step of either whipping the water and sugar together to the point where your arm wants to drop off, or heating the water to dissolve the sugar faster (and then having to compensate for the heated water by adding extra ice, risking an overly diluted lemonade in the process). This citrus juicer solves this problem by continuously stirring the contents of the 8-cup capacity acrylic pitcher the entire time the extraction motor is active (and yes, you read that right: It can hold a full 8-cups, not the meager four cups implied by the 1-quart designation in the description).
Not only do the plastic paddles combine the juice and the sugar effectively, but to that you may add crushed ice. This all but eliminates the need for refrigeration prior to serving. I wasn't loving the short spout, the constant dribbles and the hassle of finding just the right catch basin while juicing with my Cuisinart Citrus Pro Juicer. This product, by contrast, all but eliminates the usual citrus juicing inconveniences. That means it will stay out on the countertop and get regular use, which is more than I can say about the Cuisinart, or even the Jack Lelanne juicer I also own.
The LJS-402, the model designation for this product, offers a relatively quiet 25-watt reversible motor (rotates clockwise/counterclockwise). The four-legged lemonade stand design prevents the unit from rocking and walking the countertop the way my Cuisinart Citrus Pro Juicer does. It also offers a sliding switch that makes it possible to increase or decrease the amount of pulp in the juice to suit one's preference. And unlike many citrus juicers on the market, the container in which it collects the juice also doubles as a pitcher that can go from stand to refrigerator because it can be removed from the base on which it sits. So to recap, there's no need to come up with a receptacle into which the juice flows, it dispenses easily from the attached spout, and it is possible to stow the leftovers in the refrigerator without fishing a pitcher out of the cupboard. Nifty.
Bottom line? This product may look like a toy and sadly may also feel like a toy. Nevertheless, it is surprisingly convenient, and a timesaver compared to competing products. Moreover, there are fewer items left over to clean up because the process is self contained from start to finish. This is an ingenious design, a great kitchen conversation piece ---- you can't help but smile at a product that looks like this one does ---- and one that I ultimately hope Nostalgia Electrics will market more aggressively. As of this writing, you won't find this product in your local Bed, Bath & Beyond, nor at Walmart or at Macys. That's a real shame. Nostalgia/Helman Group has come up with their share of duds, including the donut maker that bombed this past holiday season (judging from the almost unanimously negative reviews elsewhere on Amazon). By contrast, this compact, space-saving citrus juicer is not the gimmick it may first appear. I personally like this juicer so well that I am seriously thinking about buying a second one to stash away before it is discontinued -- and I never buy two identical copies of any product so that's saying something! Kudos to Amazon for stocking it.

Make refreshing and delicious lemonade, limeade, and more with this unique appliance. The old-fashioned lemonade stand juices fresh citrus fruits whole while simultaneously mixing ice and other ingredients. An "on/off" switch activates the juicer and stirring mechanism, and its dispensing spout with a simple on/off valve ensures graceful, drip-free serving. In addition, the unit's two-wheel-cart design features a see-through tank, four legs for stability, and a yellow side panel with the words "Lemonade 5 Cents" in a handwritten style. Great for birthday parties, barbeques, carnivals, or fundraisers, the 25-watt lemonade juice stand measures 9-2/5 by 6-2/3 by 15-2/7 inches and carries a 90-day warranty.

220 Volt Braun MP80 Juice Exractor- WILL NOT WORK IN THE USA Review

220 Volt Braun MP80 Juice Exractor- WILL NOT WORK IN THE USA
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a juicing fanatic! So naturally I wanted to try all of the juicers and comparison shop before I bought my own. I must say, the Braun Juice Extractor takes the cake! Here's why:
1. This Juicer is easy to assemble: the Juiceman Jr always was difficult to connect all of the parts together.
2. This Juicer is easy to DISassemble: Trying to take the rotating mesh blade off of the Juiceman Jr is a pain (and can be painfull!)
3. The design is VERY spacesaving and ergonomically correct: The Juiceman Jr has a large, unnatached bin and normal glass that doesn't fit or store well with the juicer unit. The Braun Juice Extractor however, fits together in all one base unit, and even the pouring bin that recieves the juice snuggly fits against the juicer unit.
4. The REALLY cool foam strainer: This is the best part! If you've ever juiced, you know what a pain the foam at the top is! You can't get rid of the foam without actually straining it or scooping it away; you can kiss that foam goodbye with the strainer!
5. The detachable tray at the top allows you to hold your fruit and veggies without messing up other bowls and cutting boards.
6. It's just better that all the rest! Try it, and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!

This product is made from sheet metal and it bends at the handles if you try to squeeze lemons with a thick rind. There are much better alternatives out there.

Bena Casa 43914 professional hand citrus juicer press. Review

Bena Casa 43914 professional hand citrus juicer press.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife purchased this Juicer for me for Christmas. The Worthless company sent a completely different item than the one ordered. So, about two days after Christmas, we sent an e-mail to the company explaining what had happened, and asking for instructions on how and where to return the incorrect item. That was about 2 weeks ago, and as of yet, there has been no, repeat "NO", response from the company. None, zilch, nada. We will probably send another request, with copies to our attorney and to our states consumer affairs office and to the companies state office and, of course, the Better Business Bureau.

Amco Olympus X-Large Commercial Juice Press, Black Review

Amco Olympus X-Large Commercial Juice Press, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My new "Olympus X-Large Commercial Juice Press" is good enough for my kitchen,
but better juice-press exist for people looking for a real professional one which require less effort when pressing the fruits.
I used once a real professional juice-press in Spain, it was bigger, exactly like the ones I had seen also in a few arabic countries on many street corners.
The Olympus XL Juice Press require more effort compare to a real professional juice-press. I used it by myself and I had seen when the childrens (~8 years old) of my friend in Spain used the juice-press (accompanied by their father), they had enough power to press the oranges. It's not possible for children with the Olympus XL Juice Press.
If compare the "Olympus X-Large Commercial Juice Press" with a real professional juice-press:
- Power required: a professional one is easier to used
- Efficiency: same (orange peel are dry after pressing)
- Size: Olympus is smaller
- Design: both very nice looking

I got this as a gift, and the receiver said it works better than your average peeler. As far as I know he's only used it on oranges, so I can't really say how it would work on another fruit.

Omega 8003 Nutrition Center - Wheatgrass, Fruits and More Review

Omega 8003 Nutrition Center - Wheatgrass, Fruits and More
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this juicer mainly to juice green vegetables. As I don't like salads and find it pretty difficult to get raw vegetables in my diet, otherwise. It works great, very nice machine, well worth the money. The only thing I've found that didn't juice well all the time so far has been plums. I think, the softer the fruit, the more difficult its going to be to juice. I usually don't have problems with plums, though, I only had trouble one time. ...As far as the taste. Well, add an apple or two and you can consume even the bitterest of greens (kale, collard greens, ect). Which, of course, are the best ones for you. This was, personally, my main reason for buying it.
Anyways, if you're looking for an inexpensive, good quality, masticating style juicer for juicing vegetables...Then I would say; Look no further, this is your machine. The only other thing Ive tried with it was making an almond butter. And it does this quite well, as well. Although, you do have to add a decent amount of oil. I used walnut oil and it turned out pretty nice. Add a bit of honey to sweeten and you're set. A lot fresher than buying the jarred stuff. Plus, it gives you the option of soaking the nuts, which is said to make digestion easier. I've seen nut butters that use soaked nuts sell at VERY high prices in health food stores. So, if you're into soaking/sprouting foods, this would be a huge money saver.
My only complaint would be that its a bit time consuming. I'd say it takes at least a half an hour to wash/cut produce, juice, and clean parts. ...Perhaps even a bit longer, depending on how quick you are. The parts are very easy to clean, though, and assembly is a snap after you get used to how it all connects. All in all, I'd say its certainly worth the time spent.

Norpro Lemon Mate Juicer Review

Norpro Lemon Mate Juicer
Average Reviews:

I guess from the picture I assumed that the lemon would be contained inside of this gadget--I was wrong. First you cut off one end of the lemon for about a coin sized diameter. You literally screw in the top pour spout(which has a threaded neck) into the top of a lemon. There is a small cup which is just meant for the lemon to rest on. The threaded neck essentially cores out the lemon which allows juice to pool there. So when you look at the picture, think of a whole lemon sitting in between those two pieces.

This is one efficient way to get juice from a lemon. Simply slice off an end of the fruit, screw the Lemon Mate into the lemon, and pour juice as needed. You can close the lid, set the lemon on the base and store the fruit with the Lemon Mate still in it right in the fridge til the next time you need juice.

Metrokane Mighty OJ Home Juicer 3506
Average Reviews:

I have owned two of these machines. I am not a large person, but the pressure I was able to exert to press out the orange juice simply overwhelmed the gears on this manual machine, even though the gears are metal; in both instances, the gear was stripped, the second time in well under a year. At $50 a whack, you are better off with a cheap electronic juicer.

Citrus Power Hand Press Orange Juicer - By Metrokane Review

Citrus Power Hand Press Orange Juicer - By Metrokane
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Handle with care or it will bite you, fall over something or spill juice over other things on the kitchen counter. If the user lets the lever go back on its own it will do so with such momentum that the juicer itself will fall back. Poor design warranties that that will happen every time you stop using both hands simultanously. Worse. If the user tries to stop the falling back and grabs the juicer by the column, the pressing cover will pinch the grabbing hand and make it bleed. Otherwise, it looks nice and gets the juice out citric fruits. As for the annoying tendency to fall, placing a wedge in the back of the thing may be helpful.

Bought this item, got all excited to make some fresh margaritas. I squeezed one lime. Worked fine. Squeezed the second lime. Worked fine. Squeezed the third lime and it broke (see photos I posted).
Returned to the store and got my money back. Guess I'll spend the money on a reputable brand (Oxo, Williams Sonoma, etc). This thing is junk.

MIU France 3385 Juice Extractor, 3 Domes, Stainless Review

MIU France 3385 Juice Extractor, 3 Domes, Stainless
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
the juicer certainly looks good, all shiny stainless steel. it works pretty well too. even has a spout built into the juice collector, so you don't have to remove the strainer to pour out the juice.
my only gripe is the attachment of the three juicing cones. it's great that there's a selection of sizes, but the cone just sits on top of the strainer. there are 4 locating posts on each cone, and the posts just sit in a slot on the strainer. there is no attachment feature at all. this means, for example, if you're pushing down on your orange or whatever, and it forms suction on the cone, when you pick up of the orange peel, the cone comes off the juicer. kind of annoying.
