Progressive International Pineapple Corer Review

Progressive International Pineapple Corer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I slice quite a bit of pineapple and was looking for a helpful tool. This didn't work. The metal blade is too flimsy for the heavy duty job of slicing through pineapple. With quite a bit of pressure and elbow grease, it barely cut through. You have to cut the pineapple manually to almost a perfect "square" before even using the tool, quite a bit of wasted fruit. The core section usually yields core in your final slice and cuts away good fruit. Messy and time consuming. Extremely dissapointing. Not even worth committing precious drawer space for. I've now since seen it at my local grocery store and Target.

CUTTING-4.5 stars; SUCTION BASE-5(i like the mechanical suction base it has better than the ones with suction cups);
CONSTRUCTION-(only used three times so far, seems a little flimsy, but then again its not a $100+ industrial one) sooo-4 stars; and it easy to interchange the cutting sizes.
overall very happy:)
This is my 2nd time back...having problems w/ blades..blades keep falling out of blade unit..now I give it 2 stars

Progressive International Egg Slicer Review

Progressive International Egg Slicer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wrote a good review first because of the versatility of this slicer but after using it for a couple of months it started falling apart on me. Two wires have already broken and others are sagging like they are ready to break. I don't use this slicer very much and I only use it on eggs that's why I can't believe it's doing this. I feel the concept is great but the quality really lacks on this slicer that is why the 2 stars.
update: About all of the wires are broken on this, it's now completely useless, I might of got a bad one but I don't think so it looks like all of the wires were rusted where they are connected to the sides like some of the water didn't drain off so they rusted through. Well it's time to look for a new slicer. Oh and I took it down one star since it is basically a doorstop now.

Victorio VKP1010 Apple and Potato Peeler, Suction Base Review

Victorio VKP1010 Apple and Potato Peeler, Suction Base
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This item peels apples amazingly fast, as fast as you can turn the handle.
It makes the job of peeling and slicing the apples the shortest part of the job when preparing apple desserts.
Really worth the money spent, in saved time and frustration.
It will peel, core and slice an apple as fast as you can turn the handle, about 30 seconds per apple.
You'll probably peel more apples then you need, just because it's neat to watch it work.
Minus: You have to hold the cutter back until it gets started on BIG apples (or LARGE potatoes).
You need a smooth non porious surface to attach it too or it requires two hands to use it.

Norpro French Bean Slicer Review

Norpro French Bean Slicer
Average Reviews:

I was skeptical about how something like this would actually work, especially with the mixed reviews I've read on this site and others. It really isn't as bad as some would lead you to believe. Use some common sense and a bit of ingenuity and it works fine. No, you can't put a giant handfull of beans in it and expect it to not clog up. If you put in 3 or 4 at a time you'll have no problems. No, the jaws of the clamps don't open 4 inches to accomodate a countertop. They open only about 1.5 inches, enough to clamp on the edge of a table. I used a couple thin silicone pads, one on top and one underneath the table under the clamps. There was room for this and it did not damage the surface of the oak dining table at all. I have to admit, it doesn't clamp down super tight with the pads this way. One person CAN turn the crank by themselves and feed beans into the hopper with no problems, but it did work best with my husband's help. He turned the crank as fast as he could while simultaneously feeding beans into the hopper. I helped steady the slicer to the table. We went through a large brown shopping bag of beans in about 10 minutes. We grow our own vegetables every year and this is the best way to get frenched beans. You do have to disassemble the slicer to get all the bean bits out but it isn't difficult to do. If you use this with realistic expectations and realize you're going to have to work with it a bit to make it work, you'll be very happy with the result of the beans and with the time it saves. If you expect it to do all the work and the thinking for you, you'll think it's a piece of junk. It's not 100% perfect but it's as close as we're ever going to get for under $25.

Green beans are great, but French cut green beans are even better. Send the fresh green beans through this device and you will be rewarded with slender slivers that seem to have a more delicate taste and a more pleasant, less tough texture.

Progressive International Avocado Slicer Review

Progressive International Avocado Slicer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am an avacado fan. So, when I came across this tool, I thought, "aha... something to save me time in the kitchen". Well, that's only partially true.
If I have an avacado the same width as the avacado slicer, then all is right with the world. A simple motion of pressing into the avacado half and pulling towards me, and I end up with evenly spaced slices. What could be simpler or quicker!
Alas, there is a downside. If your avacado is smaller in width than the slicer, your in for a messy situation. The slicer no longer slides through the avacado, it gets caught on the tough skin (it is wider than the avacado in this situation) and the once even slices are now mashed and part of the avacado peel sticks to the slicer. I spent more time cleaning up after the slicer and my slices were no longer uniform. In this case, I would have been better off using my knife.

we used a loaner....works great....peas have to be picked and wait until next day to shell...we used an electric drill(would work better with a hand mixer)set on a small table, used a tin square pan for peas to go in and a new paper as a shoot for the hulls to go down in a bucket....now we have ordered one of our own....oh and the peas have to be turned to enter the roller with end that has a little tab on it......(not where you break it off at vine.....hope this helps..we saved a bundle of time with the sheller and no dirty fingers....jh

Victorio VKP1011 Apple and Potato Peeler, Clamp Base Review

Victorio VKP1011 Apple and Potato Peeler, Clamp Base

I purchased this peeler because our church sells apple pies as a fund raiser. This is fast and easy to clean. With a bit of hand trimming of the top and bottom core area, you are done. It slices the apples, cores them, and the peels can be recycled if you have animals that enjoy scrapes. I like the clap style, I place it on a board then put the bushel of apples on top of the board.

Fox Run Apple Peeling Machine with Clamp-On Base Review

Fox Run Apple Peeling Machine with Clamp-On Base
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a neat little slicer/peeler that worked once. I washed it and then the cheap stamped parts stripped their threads out so i could not re use it. I have machine and casting knowledge and can tell you that this is as cheap as it gets. Castings are porus and weak. Paint is thin and cheap. Stamped parts are barely threaded, maybe 2 turns holding, and fitted with sloppy fitting bolts. You might be able to peel a bag of potatoes or apples if your lucky. Can be fixed with parts that i found at a hardware store and a little effort. Average consumer will probably just throw it away. I can't remember if it said dishwasher safe or not but it rusted badly when i tried it.

My review on the Progressive Smores Maker! I hope you find it helpful.

Enjoy delicious s'mores indoors with this easy-to-use contraption--no need to wait until summertime camping trips or gathering with friends around a bonfire at the beach. The nostalgia created with these sweet treats can now be savored any time of year and from the convenience of home. Simply fill the reservoir with water, assemble one or two s'mores on the tray by stacking a piece of chocolate and a marshmallow in between two graham-cracker squares, lower the arms to hold in place, and microwave for up to 30 seconds. The heated water allows the graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate to heat evenly, while the arms prevent the marshmallows from over expanding and overcooking, giving the chocolate time to melt. Be careful when removing the s'more maker from the microwave as the water is hot and can spill. The innovative unit creates consistently perfect s'mores--crisp graham crackers neatly holding together soft marshmallow and melted chocolate. A fun addition to sleep overs or birthday parties, the s'more maker measures approximately 7-1/2 by 6-1/2 by 4 inches and cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.
