Containers, Clutch, Gaskets & Repair Kits (99100) Review

Containers, Clutch, Gaskets and Repair Kits (99100)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After looking at multiple options for ordering, I settled on thepartsbiz as the vendor of choice. Why? Because the part shown was the same as the original. Others on Amazon and elsewhere were a knockoff. Sad to say, so was this one but they didn't have the ethics to show the product they were selling. I've posted pictures showing what I received versus the original. Judge for yourself but buyer beware. The blades are different (and cheaper) and the base rubber parts are longer than the original which prevents the jar from seating well in the blender base. I will never purchase from them again and am extremely disappointed by the misrepresentation.

NOSTALGIA COCKTAIL SHAKER Review

NOSTALGIA COCKTAIL SHAKER
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this for my birthday recently and while it seemed like a cool idea, the gimmick wore off when I realized it was unnecessary. I understand that people want to play god by making small tornadoes, but unfortunately these little tornadoes can also be accomplished by twirling your hand in a clockwise motion. Yes call me old fashioned but I dont need the robots to turn my drinks for me. The batteries die quick, so lets see.. I can save money on batteries by gently turning my hand. They have these things at Bath and Body Works, and all those kind of stores for $10, for $10 I would buy it if you need a shaker, but dont buy it for the gimmick, as it so unnecessary.
One positive note, It can destroy your iphone if Steve Jobs doesn't give us some decent features soon.

Waring PJE101 Quite White Juice Extractor Review

Waring PJE101 Quite White Juice Extractor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought one of these in 1977. And it's still in excellent condition after about a million (more or less) glasses of juice. What more can you ask?
Well, perhaps easier cleaning. Pulp gets wedged in the basket and you need a stiff brush to get it loose. Some dishwashers will do the trick, but you may end up scrubbing. Thus four instead of five stars.
If you need to make more than two glasses of juice, you'll probably have to stop and empty the basket of pulp before continuing. The Champion juicer spits out the pulp while juicing and might be a better choice for those who have large families.
Nevertheless, this Waring juicer (they bought out the old Acme brand) gets every drop of juice from your veggies and fruit. Don't even consider a cheaper juicer, as you'll pay the price in needing more produce to come up with a good glass of juice. Bon Apetit!

Carrots, celery, beets, cucumbers, apples--all vegetables and fruits, with the exception of citrus, go into this powerful 550-watt compact juicer's feed chute and come out the spout as pure, fresh juice. (For citrus fruits, you must purchase a separate attachment.) A stainless-steel blade chops the vegetables and fruits, and centrifugal force, just as high-school physics teachers promise, spins the juice from the pulp and through a strainer before it pours from the spout. Disposable paper filters (included), useful for soft fruits, can be placed inside the strainer to further filter juice. You can employ the pulp to flavor soups, casseroles, breads, cakes, and sauces, or it can go into the compost pile. Twisting off the cover opens the juicer for simple disassembly and cleaning. The stainless-steel bowl can go into the dishwasher, but other parts must be hand washed. The juicer is 11-1/2 inches high and 9-1/4 inches wide. Features:
Voltage 550 watts
Stainless steel & polycarbonate housing
Stainless steel Bowl
Stainless steel Blade
Juice capacity: 30 oz.
Speed settings: On and Off

6640-022 Table Top Blender, Oster 6640, 10 spd White Review

6640-022 Table Top Blender, Oster 6640, 10 spd White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This blender does crush ice and makes my smoothies with ease (the recipe's in my book, Feeding the Kids!). I have even ground coffee with the blender a few times. Its motor is holding up well after around 2 years of heavy usage and washings in the dishwasher.
The other review mentioned leaking. The blender only leaks when you put the rubber gasket on below the blade attachment. It's an easy mistake to make--and an easy mistake to correct. There is a note engraved on the blade attachment showing just where to put the gasket, but it's not very noticeable unless you look for it.
My main complaint is that the lid of the blender is very poorly made and warped in the dishwasher. Also, the middle part of the lid fell into the blender and was pureed into my soup while I was blending it. That's a major design flaw. The lid is the main reason I give this product 3 stars.
Update: It finally died after about 4 years of fairly heavy usage. The motor still works, but the stem that spins snapped off. I did have to replace the rubber gasket, blades, lid and glass jar (my fault, I dropped it) over the years--but still, an OK blender for the price.

Juiceman Jr. Elite Pro JM211 Juice Extractor Review

Juiceman Jr. Elite Pro JM211 Juice Extractor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was very skeptical about juicing and received this as a gift. I found that this juicer very easy to use and clean. You can even wash the accessories in the dishwasher. My energy level has increased dramatically after using my juicer and I don't know how I ever got along without it! I definitely recommend this juicer to a beginner who would like to try out adding juices to their diet.

Whether you're into nutrition-laden wheatgrass tonics or really superb fresh orange juice, a juicer is a great way to go. Fruits and vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet, and additive-free fresh juice is a convenient and quick alternative to eating all of them whole. This Juiceman Junior is best for the more casual juice enthusiast, but is still plenty powerful and quick. Two latches hold the juice bowl, blade basket, and cover on the base unit, which has a footprint comparable to the average blender. Produce cut to the appropriate size goes in the feed tube, then is gently pressed into the blade basket with a plunger. Juice pours out one spout, while the pulp--including seeds and skin--shoots out into a separate pulp basket. The low speed setting is for softer produce such as oranges and apples, while the high speed setting takes care of harder fruits and vegetables such as carrots and pineapples. Enjoy the juice and use the pulp in recipes such as those for carrot cake. A basic cookbook and audiotape of juicing tips are included.

This is a great little gadget for juicing small jobs, like lemons and limes for marinades or sauces. You do need ripe fruit however or you will not get much juice. It does not work as well for oranges or grapefruits due to size of fruit. But I use mine everyday to squeeze lemon juice over meat for ceviche. The stainless steel holds up and lasts.

Hamilton Beach 67333 Juice Extractor Review

Hamilton Beach 67333 Juice Extractor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was excited about this juicer when I read it had a space saving design...and it looked like it could be the first juicer reasonably portable for some traveling. Chaaa...you know what? Na-ha. It's not as small as it appears from photos but it's still the smallest and lightest juicer I've picked up. I could stuff it into a padded travel bag I suppose.
The chute is a little too narrow - most carrots I have to slice in half long ways. It does seem powerful and the carrots get grated up pretty well. After only one use it starts to get stained with carrot juice (happens to most juicers though) and manual states carrots will permanently stain unit. Haven't yet tried to bleach parts or anything. In dishwasher the pulp bin peice's stains did not come out but this part is a tinted color so not so obvious. Other parts looked okay.
Most importantly - the juice. Unfortunately like most if you're trying to strain all the pulp - again as with most low end juicers - there's a lot of it. Clean up is pretty easy as is assembly/dissasembly. If you like the quickness of the centrifugal type juicers AND want more pulp free juice quantity -get an Omega 500, 1000 or 9000. The reason is that the pulp gets spun around a steel straining basket extracting more juice. It is one of the few that have this feature (sadly). I have for now given up on all the low end juicers (tried most of them) because you just don't get enough juice out of them and the remaining pulp is too damp. I currently own an Omega 8001 - I like it but it is more work than I want to get rich and bountiful juice so may go back to the Omega 1000 type. Fanatics claim about these studies "proving" the Green Life/Power juicer is the best but I also had a doctor look over the report and when you read it examine those bar charts carefully - it isn't that conclusive.
The study actually shows that a little oxidation from centrifugal juicers is not that bad. Good luck!

Waring Juicing Center, Quite White/Stainless Review

Waring Juicing Center, Quite White/Stainless
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned this juicer for over a year now and have had to change the blade twice. It does a good job most of the times, but when you start mixing soft and hard fruits and vegetables simultaneously and in a certain order, the unit will start vibrating to the point where the blade will make contact with the metal column where vegetables/fruits are introduced. The result: the maching will grind the blade and damage the performance of it. Try the following combination: apple, carrots, and grapes. Say bye bye to your blade.... (a $40 value).

Hamilton Beach 54615 Wavestation Express Dispensing Blender with 48-Ounce Jar, Black Review

Hamilton Beach 54615 Wavestation Express Dispensing Blender with 48-Ounce Jar, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this blender about a year ago from Wal-Mart. I've had a number of blenders over the past 30+ years but always ended up giving them away because I seldom if ever used them -- too much bother -- and have this thing about getting rid of unused stuff but finding yet another excuse why I "need" to buy another blender. I got it strictly for smoothies. My sister convinced me they were good for me, but I wasn't about to pay $3-4 a pop for one smoothie. I was going to do all the research but saw this blender in Wal-Mart and just liked how it looked and really liked the price, around $18 at the time. I thought the spout thingee was neat, but I was really blown away by the 500 watts on this thing. I figured how bad could it be with 500 watts. If it blew out after recouping the price of 4-5 smoothies, it would be a fair tradeoff in my view. I'm not a technical person but after comparing the wattage of this one with the others on display, I thought what have I got to lose?
It's plastic, very lightweight and easy to move around. That works for me. Soooo easy to clean and disassemble when doing a thorough clean. Immediately after use I rinse it, fill it less than half full with hot water and a drop of liquid detergent, hold the lid down and give it a couple of whirls on pulse. Take it off and shake it around to get the top clean, then rinse again and make sure I open the spout to let it drain. If you don't clean it right away, you'll have to scrub it clean. You can disengage the spout, replacing it with the screw cap at the bottom of base, if you don't want to use the spout. My smoothies are so thick now I just pour it out.
The first few times I used it, I smelled burning rubber but I do push this thing as far as filling it with ice and whatever else I want and doing it as quickly as I can, using the setting that gives me the quickest results, be that pulse or smoothie or whatever. Again, I like this blender so much I figure I'll replace it with the same if I blow it and it's not under warranty. So far, so good. (It's a 3-year warranty.)
No more burning rubber even though I still fill it with ice and a mixture of everything. I'm reading "Green for Life" so I've added greens, celery, carrots and other vegetables, chia seed gel, flax seed, a little honey, etc., to my juice and fruit mixtures, both frozen banana and other fresh and frozen fruit, all of these things at the same time. DELICIOUS! My husband didn't like the vegetables added at first but now he really looks forward to them, which is just about every day or every other day now. The blender works like a charm. It doesn't pulverize the greens (spinach or romaine lettuce)100%. There's a small amount of greens that doesn't get chopped up - but very minute bits that aren't that noticeable and not worth the price for a higher-priced, "better" blender, as none of them get 5-star reviews anyway and mine works well enough to suit my needs. No problem whatsoever with ice. It has only bogged down on me once, but I just turned it off and nudged it around with wooden spoon and it's been good to go. Now, if I can remember, I put the ice cubes in after the juice, which is first. Sometimes I put them in last.
I'm not that easy to please, but I'm very satisfied with this blender. It's still a pleasure to use. I'm sending one to my son for his bday.

Equipped with 500 watts of power, this countertop blender works great for liquefying frozen fruit, whipping up creamy smoothies, making pureed soups, and more. Its revolutionary WaveAction blending system continuously forces the mixture down into stainless-steel ice-crushing blades for thorough blending from top to bottom--every time. Great for parties or everyday use, the blender's design includes a convenient dispenser valve, which can be removed and replaced by a cap for standard blending operation. The unit includes a 56-ounce dishwasher-safe DuraBlend plastic jar with a tight-fitting lid, generous handle, and drip-free spout for graceful pouring. The blender measures approximately 7 by 8 by 13 inches and carries a three-year limited warranty.

Hamilton Beach Health Smart Juicer Review

Hamilton Beach Health Smart Juicer
Average Reviews:

I brought this on my self. I knew I shouldn't have bought this juicer, but the price was good and I was curious about how it would work (since no one on any of the sites I went on rated this), plus I am a first time juicer. Well, the first time I used it, the "juice" was a little thick, so of course I thought I did something wrong (maybe I should've added the orange last?). I juiced again tonight, and as the apple was coming out, there was no juice, but a thick white goop, the carrots came out okay. Again, the end product was a thick drink. Not impressed. The chute size is so-so, and it sounds like a hand vac. I didn't think there'd be that much negative things to say about this machine, but low and behold!
Why are there any stars at all?? Reasons: it introduced me to juicing (gotta start somewhere, might as well be the bottom goin' up!), it wasn't that hard to wash, and the machine was not stained after putting carrots through.
p.s. I'm keeping it b/c I despise having to wait in line to return anything, and this time of year is havoc (a week b/4 Xmas!)!

Tristar 70-oz. Jack LaLanne's White Classic Power Juicer, White.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Jack La Lane Power juicer and was very disappointed. I returned it after trying it a few times. Carrots would always get stuck in the bottom of the shoot and impede anything else including the stuck carrots from passing through to the blade. I had to keep stopping the juicer to pull the carrots out. I realized that everytime a put a carrot in the juicer, it would get stuck once it got juiced down to the right size to just sit at the bottom of the shoot. Ughhh...so I returned it and got the Jack La Lane "Elite." The only difference was that the "Elite" had a stainless steel cover...it had exactly the same problem..I would never, ever, recommend this juicer to anyone. I ended up going back to my Juiceman Jr which I have had for over 15 years. I had put it in a bag to take to Goodwill, but had to take it out again.I now have a Breville "elite". It DOES NOT JUICE greens well and there seems to be a lot of waste. I'm going to try another brand and if I am still dissatisfied will just stick with my old Juiceman Jr!

Hamilton Beach 51101B Personal Blender with Travel Lid, Black Review

Hamilton Beach 51101B Personal Blender with Travel Lid, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this for my 17 year old son to make smoothies. He made the most delicious peach smoothie from ice and the Big Train Fruit Tea Smoothie Blast syrup also bought on Amazon. The consistency was smooth and perfect, just like a professional frozen drink. I asked him to make me one. On the second smoothie the motor died. We thought maybe it needed a little "rest" but sadly, it was the end of the road for that blender. When pressed for details, my son admitted that he noticed a burning smell before the motor stopped dead, and yet he kept pressing that button! Bottom line: great design, lightweight, nice personal cup size, easy storage and cleanup. The motor is just not very powerful, and can't take long blending times. Still, we are going to order a replacement and see if a bit more TLC while blending gives this blender better shelf life. Seems like it worked for some of the other reviewers.
Update: we got the new blender and it is working out great. You just have to be careful to pulse the blender as you go along, and stop for a few seconds (10?) if you start to smell the motor smell. Ice is blended into drinks very well, with no big chunks. The only downside is the no dishwasher requirement. I feel pretty tempted to try it, but as this is already the second blender I will resist.

No need to lug out the heavy-duty blender for those morning smoothies, protein shakes, or other blended beverages. When you're trying to get out the door in a hurry, this convenient blender offers one-person portions, simple one-touch blending, and durable stainless-steel blades for fast results. Best of all, its 14-ounce blending jar doubles as a travel cup, so you can sip from the same container you blend in, which means less to clean in the end. The portable travel cup includes measuring marks up the side, and it fits most car cup holders for safe, secure transport. A travel lid to drink from and a recipe book are included. An excellent juicer, has more power than any I could find in this price range. The motor does not wind down, all the pulp is ejected into the back container providing clean juice! I compared 6 juicers to this one and none could compare to its power. No problems with this at all since I purchased it and I use it every day. I like the stainless steel top where the extractor fits over, most other Juicers have plastic. This juicer is fast, fairly quiet, and in quality and power, it compares to juicers in the $300+ range. It is very easy to clean and operate. You can't go wrong with this at its price!

Omega 9000 Juicer Review

Omega 9000 Juicer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Omega 9000 juicer is a good juicer.
I've had an Acme 6001 for years and it has served me well. When it was time for a new juicer, I bought the Breville since it was such a "hot item".
Big mistake! Unless you want it to "keep up with the Joneses" and think having a big shiny juicer in your kitchen is more about prestige and less about health, then the Breville is for you.
Back to the Omega. The Omega 9000 makes pulp feel like a shirt. It's pretty dry.
Big up to Amazon & HealthNut for it's speedy pick up of the Breville and quick delivery of the Omega (2 days), which is actually well-designed and has good yield.
Now for the cons: carrot residue sticks to the bottom and along the periphery of the basket which goes inside the bowl. It took me a long time to scrub off. Maybe a filter will help, but I never had that problem with the Acme and it was built many moons ago in the 90's. If it wasn't for that design flaw, I'd give it another star.
One last thing. Make sure you process the fruit & vegetables in the right order. For some reason, if you put, say, cucumber and parsley first, before the carrot, the juicer will flip out and do a dance on the counter. I experienced this w/ the Acme as well. So go slow at first & read the tips about what to process first & how.
Cheers.

HB 2 Speed Juice Extractor Review

HB 2 Speed Juice Extractor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The juicer is okay for every day use. I have a lot of lefovers from carrots that did not turn into juice. So I make carrot cakes out of them, FYI. The best thing about it is that is gets assembled pretty easily; it takes a little effort, however, to get the grinding piece off. My mother-in-law even wanted to take it to the store to ask for help before I came and showed her that she had to pull harder. I usually rinse the parts in the sink before I dish wash them. It is a matter of 5-10 minutes, maybe, to clean after yourself. This juicer saved us money; we do not buy any frozen juices any longer. What makes me unhappy is that it's fairly loud, I can't make the juice early in the morning before my jogging time. The neighbors downstars would not appreciate it. I'd not extremely loud though as those with higher power go, stll my daughter jumps every now and then if I turn it on without letting her know before hand. The plastice does stain from the fruit/veggies. I can't quite get it why they make it out of plastic, it looks a little cheap and worn out after a few uses. Over all, it's served us for 2+ years with no break. I am pretty pleased with the price and quality of it.

Better Chef IM550V Juicer Review

Better Chef IM550V Juicer
Average Reviews:

I've just finished drinking my first glass of carrot juice made with this juicer. I couldn't be more satisfied.

First of all it's very easy to assemble, disassemble and wash. I've had two other "under $50" juicers and have had trouble getting the stainless steel baskets in and out and remembering what order to assemble it - with this one it was a breeze.
Carrots are one of the harder textured food to juice. This machine was so quick and powerful I couldn't believe it, it took seconds!!!! I can't attest to whether it will continue to work, but for function and ease of use you can't beat it. It also does a good job of extracting all the juice out - the pulp was very dry.
Would recommend it if it were five times the price - I've never seen a juicer so inexpensive. This is the machine to buy if you've considered juicing, but were hesitant to invest the money. Also, makes a great additional juicer.
