(More customer reviews)I received this food processor a few weeks ago and am so pleased! I previously had the Kitchenaid professional 11 cup model and this one is sooo much better! It's amazing what increasing the size by just one cup does! I had this chocolate tofu pie recipe that never quite got blended in my old processer because it was too thick and heavy, but it blends to the smoothest consistency in this one. I no longer have to break it up into batches! Plus, the extra large feed tube is a definate improvement over the older smaller versions.And this one doesn't jump around on my countertop like my older one did a bit. This one just seems REALLY solidly built. Don't get me wrong, Kitchenaids older versions were also the best for their time, this one is just even better!
The design of this model is also very sleek and I'm no longer emberassed having my processor on my countertop.
Please note, this brushed nickel model also comes with an egg wisk, a citrus juicer attachment and an extra work bowl, which don't come with the other models. I noticed this wasn't mentioned in Amazon's description but it should be. That alone justifies the slightly higher price, in addtition to the beautiful stainless finish and larger feed tube.

(More customer reviews)I got this for my birthday recently and while it seemed like a cool idea, the gimmick wore off when I realized it was unnecessary. I understand that people want to play god by making small tornadoes, but unfortunately these little tornadoes can also be accomplished by twirling your hand in a clockwise motion. Yes call me old fashioned but I dont need the robots to turn my drinks for me. The batteries die quick, so lets see.. I can save money on batteries by gently turning my hand. They have these things at Bath and Body Works, and all those kind of stores for $10, for $10 I would buy it if you need a shaker, but dont buy it for the gimmick, as it so unnecessary.
One positive note, It can destroy your iphone if Steve Jobs doesn't give us some decent features soon.

(More customer reviews)This blender does crush ice and makes my smoothies with ease (the recipe's in my book, Feeding the Kids!). I have even ground coffee with the blender a few times. Its motor is holding up well after around 2 years of heavy usage and washings in the dishwasher.
The other review mentioned leaking. The blender only leaks when you put the rubber gasket on below the blade attachment. It's an easy mistake to make--and an easy mistake to correct. There is a note engraved on the blade attachment showing just where to put the gasket, but it's not very noticeable unless you look for it.
My main complaint is that the lid of the blender is very poorly made and warped in the dishwasher. Also, the middle part of the lid fell into the blender and was pureed into my soup while I was blending it. That's a major design flaw. The lid is the main reason I give this product 3 stars.
Update: It finally died after about 4 years of fairly heavy usage. The motor still works, but the stem that spins snapped off. I did have to replace the rubber gasket, blades, lid and glass jar (my fault, I dropped it) over the years--but still, an OK blender for the price.

(More customer reviews)I am single and when I cook for one or two I enjoy this Cuisinart Food Processor. It is easy to clean and doesn't take up a lot of space. Excellent for dicing or pureeing tomatoes, herbes, and vegetables from my summer garden for sauces too. When I have extra I just add some olive oil to the batch and instant pesto. I can freeze the pesto for later use. The food processor has plenty of power for those smaller jobs.

KitchenAid 5-Speed Blenders with Polycarbonate Jars Review

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a blender for a few weeks now. We have started making smoothies at home and burned up our old one. Our girls like the "Chocolate Elvis" recipe from the local smoothie place which contains peanutbutter, bananas, yogurt, ice, and milk. I guess this is really hard on blenders. I bought one at Target 2 weeks ago that had "700 watts peak power" on the box. It died in 2 days. The power spec on the bottom of the blender said 450 watts. I think that is false advertisement. I have seen this on 2 different blenders now.
I have been leery of buying any blender with the little plastic teeth couplers because of all the bad reviews here on Amazon. I also wanted to stay away from anything with only 450 watts.
I was in another store and saw this blender. It has a new design for where the blades couple with the motor. "Commercial quality couplers with 12 interlocking teeth....coated for quiet operation".
We have had it for a few days now and have made some pretty thick smoothies. So far, so good. No burning smell like the one that was immediately apparent with the Target blender. My youngest daughter complanied that her smoothie was "too smooth". I guess she got used to the chunks of ice that our past blenders have left.
Kitchenaid doesn't seem to advertise the actual power specs on their blenders. On the bottom of this one it says that it draws 6 amps. Which is about 720 watts or about 0.9 horsepower.
My only complaint so far is the soft start feature. The blade starts at a slower speed then quickly increases to the speed you chose. This process still throws everything up into the lid, which is what it should prevent. It works fine though as long as you have the lid on. It also works if you start with the slowest speed and work your way up.
Overall this blender seems to be well made and pretty well thought out. The cord storage on the bottom is a great feature. It has much bigger feet than the previous model. So far, I would highly recommend this blender for the person looking for a good blender in the under $200 range.

It is a year and about 300 smoothies later and we still have this blender. I would highly recommend it!!

Cuisinart DFP-3 Handy Prep 3-Cup Food Processor Review

(More customer reviews)Having picked this item up on an Amazon special, I must first say that the price-performance ratio is excellent. The machine comes with several blades and a chute attachment. If you have used a Cuisinart machine before, assembly and operation will be very, very simple. That the pieces are dishwasher safe is a boon, as well. I like this little processor; its small size is just right for our empty nest food prep.
There are a couple of things Cuisinart could perhaps rethink. It is awkward to remove the slicing or shredding blade. The plastic used on several of the pieces seems vulnerable to staining. The shredding blade seems, for some ingredients, to "pulverize" better than to shred. It would also be nice to have at least one other size of slicing disc and a plastic chopping blade included. Those refinements would make this machine nearly perfect for me.
Still, this sturdy workhorse is a welcome addition to our kitchen. Those who have smaller amounts of ingredients to prep will find that it is a useful complement to other kitchen tools.

(More customer reviews)I am giving this product 5 stars because it works excellent for the price. But I do need to wear ear plugs if I am going to use it for more than a couple of seconds. If you are looking for something more quiet, this is not for you. However, if you are looking to save money and do a great job and can deal with the noise, then this is for you. The large 8 cup workbowl is perfect for chopping things in together.
One other thing I have to say is the slicer slices pretty thin - thinner than it looks in the picture. I sliced carrots and they were about 1/8 inch in thickness.

(More customer reviews)I got this for my 17 year old son to make smoothies. He made the most delicious peach smoothie from ice and the Big Train Fruit Tea Smoothie Blast syrup also bought on Amazon. The consistency was smooth and perfect, just like a professional frozen drink. I asked him to make me one. On the second smoothie the motor died. We thought maybe it needed a little "rest" but sadly, it was the end of the road for that blender. When pressed for details, my son admitted that he noticed a burning smell before the motor stopped dead, and yet he kept pressing that button! Bottom line: great design, lightweight, nice personal cup size, easy storage and cleanup. The motor is just not very powerful, and can't take long blending times. Still, we are going to order a replacement and see if a bit more TLC while blending gives this blender better shelf life. Seems like it worked for some of the other reviewers.
Update: we got the new blender and it is working out great. You just have to be careful to pulse the blender as you go along, and stop for a few seconds (10?) if you start to smell the motor smell. Ice is blended into drinks very well, with no big chunks. The only downside is the no dishwasher requirement. I feel pretty tempted to try it, but as this is already the second blender I will resist.
